A Kalman Filter for State Estimation of a Power Control Unit

Zusammenfassung: This work deals with a Kalman filter for state estimation of a Power Control Unit (PCU) as part of a high-lift actuation system. To estimate the unknown states of the system, a Kalman filter is developed which estimates the internal volume flow between the valve block and the hydraulic motor from the measured rotational speed of the motor. For this purpose, the underlying PCU model is transferred to a state space representation and implemented in real time on DLRs A320 PCU test bench. In a measurement campaign the resulting Kalman filter was extensively tested with a total of 760 test points. The estimated flow is compared with measurement data. The Kalman filter shows consistently good results, both qualitatively and quantitatively.
