Zusammenfassung:
This paper describes the layout of a lighter-than-air cargo carrier for autonomous unmanned operation in areas with tenuous infrastructure and under the pressing need for substantial cargo exchange in Northern Canada. This requires a coordinating ground system for UAV-type monitoring and control, weather forecast and strategic operations schemes. For reasons of economy and ecology, hydrogen shall be used as both lifting and fuel gas in combination with liquefied methane. The method of externally suspending payloads permits expedient cargo exchange and avoids environmental damage due to footprints at ecologically sensitive pickup locations.
