Zusammenfassung:
Inevitable time-delay is the most obvious difference between terrestrial and interplanetary communication. The delay causes communication of interplanetary networks becoming more similar to an asynchronous postal model than to a synchronous telephony model. These connectivity limitations can decrease the efficiency of cooperative working, especially when dealing with emergency situations. To understand the communication mechanisms as well as interaction patterns of people communicating under such conditions, we carried out a prestudy, presented in this paper. Our findings indicate that the cooperation process itself seems to be more relevant for communication partners than the expected result of the cooperation. According to that, we suggest technical and organisational measures to improve cooperation under time-delay conditions.
