In the absence of funded investigative teams, the author and a group of other amateurs researched newly declassified documents during the years 1998 to the present. Previously unpublished airship-submarine encounters were located. Conclusions defining the overall usefulness of LTA in ASW have been reached. These conclusions could be useful to ASW planners today.
