Titel:

Multi-Purpose Passenger Guidance Systems for Terminals

Autor(en):

Zusammenfassung:
The guidance system is an essential part of the common airport concept. Passengers, who are not famil iar with the complex airport environment, are strictly relying on way-finding information. The lack of information will have an explicit influence on passengers service perception. The passenger explores the airport by using the guidance system, so naturally airports have to be very sensitive to the needs of passengers for clear information. But airport standards regarding to the corporate identity often have a higher priority than passenger perception or efficient guidance concepts. Although the construction and operation of airports are based on several national and international regulations, these regulations do not include explicit statements about guidance systems. A network approach will be presented for designing a terminal guidance system. The implementation of the guidance system as an adaptive control element inside a macroscopic simulation facilitates the efficient use of limited terminal capacities.
