Zusammenfassung:
Whatever the goal of planetary exploration is -scientific, economical or strategic-, autonomy represents the key point to make it affordable and successful, for both unmanned and human missions. This paper describes an hybrid architecture for autonomous diagnosis consisting of a Model-Based module for the failure detection task and a Knowledge-Based module for the failure identification one. The proposed diagnostic tool improves the reliability of the failure management process, enhances its flexibility to cope with un-forecasted operative conditions and increases its robustness with respect to cascade and incipient failures, environmental anomalies and off-line settled models possible errors. A lunar surface architecture has been chosen as applicative scenario by means of a dynamic simulator of its elements.
