Titel:

Miniaturized LIDAR for Lunar or Planetary Landing

Autor(en):
B. Möbius, M. Pfennigbauer
Zusammenfassung:
The advantages of Lidar sensors for 3D measurements under different illumination conditions and over a distance of several kilometers are obvious and generally accepted. Lidar application on e.g. Lunar Landers for surface mapping, landing site selection, hazard avoidance; also for rendezvous or formation flight control; asks for miniaturization of size and power. Transition to a compact Gimbal-mounted scanner system combined with a coaxial transmitter/receiver telescope and the employment of multiple channels leads to a mass and power saving, high-performance 3D landing Lidar for applications up to about 5 kilometer. The collimating receiver optics allows application under any illumination condition day and night.
