Titel:

Aerodynamic Studies of Alternative High Lift Devices in the NEXUS Programme

Autor(en):
C. Newbold, K. Bohannon, S. Galpin
Zusammenfassung:
Research has been carried out in the UK NEXUS research programme into technologies for improving the integrated aerodynamic design of civil transport aircraft wings, covering both cruise and low speed aspects. This paper explains the background to NEXUS and how the low speed research activities fit into the programme as a whole. Specific aspects of the work related to evaluating different concepts for leading edge high lift devices are then described in more detail. Various alternatives to a conventional slat have been studied and compared using wind tunnel testing and numerical methods.
