Zusammenfassung:
Future aircraft could significantly benefit from the application of flow control in terms of performance increase such as lift increase for a high lift wing or buffet limit increase for transonic wing. The flow physics which is controlled in these two examples is thus turbulent boundary layer separation. But separation control can also be considered to reduce the system complexity and the structural weight of the aircraft by the use of a smaller wing, a reduced sweep, a thicker wing or smaller and simpler high-lift devices. The present paper is based on two topics: the control of turbulent boundary layer separation near the transonic buffet regime and at low speed high lift regime.
