Zusammenfassung:
First estimations of an aircraft vibration levels are based on previous experience and on published methods. Once the project is mature, devoted on-ground and flight test are performed to determine the actual vibration levels and to compare with the predictions made in the early design steps This paper shows the evolution ofthe vibration level map of a modem combat aircraft (figure 1), from the early estimations based on MIL-STD 810D methods to the final on ground and in flight tests results. Main topics discussed are the differences between in flight vibration levels and the accuracy of estimations based in MIL-STD recommendations. Experimental results have been obtained from an instrumented aircraft, equipped with accelerometers for environmental vibrations measurements. Flight test have been performed at 20 flight points, combination of several flight speeds with three different altitudes inside the flight envelope. At each flight point, several manoeuvres have been tested including: 1g flight conditions, wing up turns etc. The paper will show how the comparison between initial predictions and resulted tests identifies areas of higher measured vibrations than predicted and establishes guidelines to identify those areas and the likely expected increased levels for use in future projects.
