Zusammenfassung:
A method has been devised to allow the variation of modal response of a family of complex structures to be predicted. Such variation is the result of differences in material properties, manufacturing tolerances and loading. At IFASD 2003, the authors presented the approach to model the effects of such variations on modal dynamics. The approach which has been developed makes use of a finite element representation of the structure using the NASTRAN finite element code. A response surface model of the variation in modal properties is constructed using Design of Experiments rules to formulate data from which the response surface coefficients can be calculated. The response surfaces are subsequently used to calculate the dynamic response of the structure for different values if the uncertain properties. The method has been modified to incorporate an active control loop which finds the optimum configuration of forces to minimise the vibration for the given forcing and structural configuration. The overall vibration is measured by the sum of the squares of the responses at a number of control points.
