Titel:

Experimental Behaviour of Composite Advanced Joint under Cyclic Loads

Zusammenfassung:
The application of specific junctions in aerospace structural design is necessary for several configurations both in the secondary parts and in the primary ones. The stringent airworthiness requirements have to be satisfied and an accurate design is necessary. Adhesives and bolt connections are usually used while a pin-hole connection is required for the removable joint. A specific advanced pin-hole connection has been designed in order to overcome the low bearing failure level of the composite joints. Fatigue tests are performed on the sandwich configuration after previously establishing the static behavior. The load cycle has an average level as the failure level of the sample without the reinforcement and a maximum higher than the failure level up to at least 1e6 cycles or failure. The fatigue behavior is presented in the paper through a preliminary numerical investigation.
