Zusammenfassung:
In the technology development of fuselage structures of modem aircrafts a variety of fatigue test methods are necessary in order to master the appropriate development steps for new materials, design principles and production methods. Starting from very easy methods such as the coupon test more and more influencing variables on geometries and loads are taken into account. At the end of this development stand Full Scale Fatigue Tests of the entire primary structure. Each step is connected with an increase of effort, costs and time needed until results are available. For instance fuselage panels under cabin pressure and flight loads can be realized with the so called barrel test set-up. Barrel test procedures are connected with high effort as well as costs and a low test speed (about 5000 flight cycles per week). In order to reduce costs and accelerate the process of gaining information it is necessary to develop test procedures and component tests that describe the defined load situations with good approximation.
