Zusammenfassung:
In the case of vehicle moving in fluid, investigation on flow induced panel vibrations, and the resulting sound generated inside the passenger compartment has become of great importance. Up to now, the computation of aero-elastic noise required a model that describes the statistics of the turbulent wall pressure fluctuations. This paper describes the work done to compute the vibro-acoustic response of an elastic sheet-cavity system excited by a turbulent boundary layer flow perturbed by a small ruler. Simulation of the problem is evaluated by using Radioss CFD/CAA, a direct approach to coupled aero-acoustic, fluid/structure interaction problems. A Large Eddy Simulation method is used to treat the turbulence. Smaller scales are taken into account through a Smagorinsky model. Comparison of computational results with experimental data shows a good agreement for frequencies lower than a cut-off frequency related to the mesh size: Both wall pressure fluctuations and vibro-acoustic quantities are correctly predicted up to 500 - 700 Hz.
