Titel:

Aeroacoustics Simulation around a Wind Turbine Blade using Compressible LES and Linearized Euler Equations

Zusammenfassung:
There is a strong need to investigate aerodynamic noise generated by large wind turbines, especially noise caused by blade-tower interaction. In this work the far-field pressure perturbations caused by a stationary wind turbine blade section in an incident flow are calculated using compressible Large-Eddy simulation. These perturbations are directly responsible for aerodynamic noise. The work constitutes the first part of a project which aims to simulate the noise generated when the wind turbine blade passes next to the tower. It is hoped to find design methods to reduce noise caused by the blade-tower interaction.
