Titel:

On the Noise Prediction Computed by Hybrid Methods

Zusammenfassung:
Most of computational aeroacoustics applications rely on hybrid methods providing the radiated sound (using Lighthills analogy Kirchhoffs integral or linearized Eulers equations) from unsteady Computational Fluid Dynamics. Large-Eddy Simulation offers an interesting compromise between Direct Numerical Simulation and unsteady Reynolds Average Navier Stokes solution. The efficiency and the accuracy of the LES to compute the acoustic sources depend on numerical criteria concerning the parameters of the simulation, which are pointed out in this paper. The present work is focused on subgrid scale model (MILES method and Mixed Scale Model) to compute the acoustic sources. The study is completed by a compressible Large-Eddy Simulation performed on a supersonic Mach 1.5 rectangular jet. Both aerodynamic and acoustic results depend on the subgrid scale model used. The results obtained with MSM model recover better the properties of the jet.
