The paper re-confirms a weil known Observation of the stock exchange which says: "Shares outperform Bonds". The rule is further elaborated and expanded to result in "Private Equity outperform Shares by a factor of eight". The paper provides new insight into the underlying theory of complex systems with reference to recent progress in innovation management. lt concludes with the evidence that Start-up business may weil outperform Grown-up business by the same factor of eight under the condition that the risks associated with the Start-upsare reliably assessed by such tools as e.g. the INNO-Rating® benchmark.
