The Quality Assurance System of IABG Space Test Centre was based on ESA PSS 01-203 and ISO 9001:1994 standards to satisfy needs and requirements mainly of customers of the European Space industry. In the meantime both standards have been upgraded and will be replaced by the new ISO 9001 version 2000 respectively the ECSS Q-20-07. A short interpretation will be given of the main essential aspects of these new standards and will describe their focus with respect to the operation of the Space Test Centre of IABG. As one of the first companies since the official release in December 2000 IABG has been successfully certified against the new ISO 9001:2000. This paper will summarize the main aspects of the quality management system of IABG and the Space Test Centre, which shall be seen as a closed control loop containing employees interests and responsibilities, process optimization, documentation systematic, provision of tools and strategies of improvement. It shall be shown that all the invested effort shall mainly serve the interests and needs of customers.
