This paper describes human factors aspects concerning AIRBUS cabin and cabin systems. The aircraft cabin is looked at from various aspects as, for instance, from airlines', cabin crews', passengers" and ground services" points of view. The corresponding needs and requirements described hereafter are derived and summarized from a DGLR Workshop "Aircraft Cabin/Cabin Systems - the Next Steps", which took place in Hamburg, 10.-11. May 2001. Human factors objectives, i.e. ensure safety, provide health and comfort, support crew performance, are highlighted; the corresponding influencing factors (cabin design parameters) are discussed.
