Zusammenfassung:
In this paper some of the recent results of the DLR project Aerodynamic Simulation of Unsteady Maneuvers (AeroSUM) will be presented. AeroSUM is an interdisciplinary project involving the Institute of Aerodynamics and Flow Technology in Braunschweig-Gottingen, the Institute of Flight Research in Braunschweig, and the Transonic Wind Tunnel in Gottingen. The main focus of the project is the numerical simulation of unsteady maneuvers of fighter aircraft. These simulations will be achieved by solving the time-dependent Navier-Stokes equations simultaneously with the inertial equations of motion of the aircraft. The main objective of the simulations is the time-accurate coupling of aerodynamic and flight-mechanic interactions. A fully coupled simulation of a free-rolling delta-wing aircraft, and a fully coupled simulation of a free-pitching NACA0012 wing have been performed successfully. For validation of the flowsolver, guided-motion simulations of a pitching-oscillation delta-wing and a constant-rotation delta-wing aircraft have also been performed.
