Titel:

Parameterised Geometric Modelling - The New Aircraft (Pre)- Design Process

Autor(en):

Zusammenfassung:
To develop or evaluate an aircraft is a very complex and highly multidisciplinary process. In this concept an approach will be outlined how a faster and especially more consistent result in the (pre)design process can be achieved. With early but very simple and automatic use of the very common and standardised CAD-tool CATIA VS, every aeronautic engineer, can do a quick analysis. To obtain a new design, a self made front-end called Pad3D has been developed, which allows the user a small, structured and clear input of the most important geometric parameters for the chosen aircraft and its components. Subsequently the program will manage the construction of the design in CATIA and could start miscellaneous analyses of the needed disciplines. All these data handlings will be managed by the program CATIA VS and the database of the parameters. In order to prevent a loss of data within a more detailed development or analysis later in the aircraft design process, the standardised 3D CAD System is used..
