Titel:

An Industrial Approach to Multilevel Optimization

Autor(en):
M. Meussen
Zusammenfassung:
In MDO, multilevel optimization has been developed to distribute subtasks of an optimization process to different sites, computers or processors to improve the efficiency, accuracy and flexibility of the design process. Several approaches have been made to mathematically formulate the data exchange between different levels for merit function and constraints. These methods are not yet suitable for the practical use in large, distributed and highly diversified industrial design environment as in aircraft industry. An alternative approach to multilevel optimization for industrial use could consist in specific briefing processes between specialists of the joint disciplines. This paper reflects on the circumstances and conditions of a multilevel optimization process, which communicates between procedures, specialists and departments in terms that are familiar to both sender and recipient on an every days work basis.
