Titel:

Distributed MDO: The Way of the Future

Autor(en):
A. Morris
Zusammenfassung:
The paper looks forward to the development of advanced systems to assist in the distributed multidisciplinary design and optimisation of innovative and complex aircraft. It argues for the creation of open systems allowing distributed design teams to merge their specific design tools, software and models into a single co-operative multi-level and multi-disciplinary design system. The paper notes that the application of such complex systems can only be effectively undertaken if the members of these distributed teams are able to operate as self-managed and self-organised groups. In order to illustrate the ideas and concepts the paper draws heavily on two major research programmes which are endeavouring to make significant progress in this very difficult area.
