Zusammenfassung:
This paper presents the concept of the Cockpit Assistant System CAMA and its functions as an example of human-centered automation. This knowledge-based system provides monitoring of aircraft systems as well as of crew behaviour. By use of a centralised data evaluation while concerning internal model representations CAMA tries to guide the attention of the crew to the objecktively most urgent task. In case of a workload too high to handle, the system supports the crew by several, sophisticated functions in order to cope with the situation. A general survey of CAMA with its stmcture, functions and interfaces will be given, followed by a brief description of the individual system modules. The final focus will be on pilot behaviour modeling as n essential aspect of pilot behaviour monitring.
