Titel:

Is a Fault-Tolerant Monitoring within the Primary Control-Loop Possible?

Autor(en):

Zusammenfassung:
In general, the term "monitoring system" comprises the two elements "observing" and "recording the observation". This paper focuses on a monitoring within the primary control loop of a future flight control system. In addition to low critical simplex monitoring systems, the described class of safety-critical redundant monitoring systems also take a specific action following a failure and thereby affect the observed units, i.e. they are reconfiguring the control system. These monitoring systems induce fault-tolerance to the control loop and recursively these monitoring systems themselves are invulnerable to any effects of any causes of arbitrary failures. The basic structure of such a monitoring concept is sketched.
