Titel:

FOQA and Air Transport Monitoring - a Manufacturers Viewpoint

Autor(en):
P. Hart
Zusammenfassung:
Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) is a major incentive which aims to substantially reduce the number of incidents/accidents caused by "human factors". Systems used for FOQA also provide an entry point into other air transport monitoring applications such as engine/airframe performance audits, Cat Ill autoland analysis and ETOPS certification. This paper discusses latest product developments, in terms of both airborne equipment and ground replay/analysis software required to implement effective FOQA programs. Future potential requirements are also discussed. These include flightpath deviation monitoring, as part of the FANS program (Future Air Navigation System), and recording differential GPS approach paths for autoland certification.
