Zusammenfassung:
EUROCOPTERs product policy is to propose two types of HUMS adapted to helicopter size, one for light helicopters and one for heavier helicopters. Those products are developed on the basis of a common design approach which is resulting from HUMS studies on last ten years in EUROCOPTER. Design principles and substantiation methodology have been matured; the present status is explained, highlights are shown of our ARMS activities (HUMS research program). The HUMS concept for large helicopters encompasses the complete set of functions developed in the research frame. The HUMS concept for light helicopters is divided in 3 parts. The usage monitoring with direct measurement of load values (direct monitoring). The usage monitoring with an indirect way to monitor usage loads (indirect monitoring) and the health monitoring with vibration measurements.
