Based on the existing crash recorder system of a German Combat Aircraft, which is comprising as an integral part the Onboard Life Monitoring System (OLMOS), a modern Solid State Flight Data Recording System is being developed in order to replace both tape recorders, the crash and maintenance recorders. The new onboard equipment for real time data recording and digitized audio recording is applying real time data processing and data I audio compressing techniques combined with a flexible data recording concept. It provides a maximum benefit for crash I incident investigation and evaluation as well as enhanced data sets for optimized technical and logistic support of military combat aircraft.
