Fault Monitoring and Condition Monitoring have traditionally been handled by separate LRUs. With the increasing power of microprocessors it is now feasible to integrate these functions into a single LRU. This paper describes AlliedSignals Maintenance Data Acquisition Unit for the Gulfstream V. It contains a Fault/Maintenance (F/M) application as well as an Aircraft Condition Monitoring System (ACMS) application. The system is partitioned such that changes can be made to one application without affecting the certification of the other. Reconfiguration and Readout tools are common for both applications utilizing AlliedSignals Windows-based Ground Support Equipment.
