Titel:

A Safety Manager's Information Linking Expert System (SMILES)

Autor(en):

Zusammenfassung:
The challenge in safety monitoring is to use the vast range of available data to identify hazards. This can be best achieved by efficiently linking existing databases and highlighting common or high risk areas to give the full picture. It should enable effort to be targeted on areas of concern by incorporating expert guidance and reducing the interrogation of numerous databases. The UK-CAA have been involved with FDR data analysis for over 25 years and has much experience of bringing together information for comprehensive incident and problem analysis. This paper describes how the integration of safety data from advanced operational FDR monitoring, crew and engineering reports and statistical data can provide the airline safety manager with a more proactive information system.
