Zusammenfassung:
This paper proposes a computational approach of the jet mixing noise prediction, based on the assumption that for free shear flows most of the radiated noise is due to large-scale coherent motion. The details of the method are illustrated on the example of the plane jet configuration. We present two-dimensional unsteady aerodynamic computations of three plane jets at Mach number 0.50, 1.33 and 2.00, using semi-deterministic modelling (SDM) where only coherent structures are calculated. The radiated noise is then evaluated numerically via Lighthills analogy. Results concerning the acoustic radiation directivity are compared to experimental data and analysed with the help of a geometrical interpretation of Lighthills theory expressed in conjugated (k,w) space.
