Zusammenfassung:
Nonlocal, linear instability theory is applied to study convective crossflow and Tollmien-Schlichting instability of compressible, three-dimensional flow past the laminar glove of the Attas / VFW 614 wing. The basic flow is computed using first order boundary layer theory. Wall normal and streamwise basic- as well as disturbance-flow gradients, surface curvature and wall normal basic flow velocity are consistently included in the nonlocal instability analysis by introducing a multiple scales assumption as opposed to the parallel flow assumption in classical local stability analysis. Applying the nonlocal DLR / FFA NOLOT-code, effects of nonuniform boundary layer flow, curvature and compressiblity on steady and unsteady disturbance growth are studied. It is shown that in the investigated most amplified parameter range, nonlocal crossflow instability is strongly influenced by boundary layer growth and surface curvature but only weakly by compressibility, whereas the opposite is found for Tollmien-Schlichting instability.
