Zusammenfassung:
With Satellite-Navigation systems precise global positioning even in the sub-meter range is possible. To take advantages of It In aircraft navigation, the way of presenting all the information the system provides to the pilot, has to be thought over. Specially in General Aviation there Is a variety of different applications with their own requirements for a cockpit-display. This calls for a very flexible display-system, to satisfy all these options. The usage of Cathode-Ray-Tubes gives the chance to taylor a feasible display for any application. At the Institute of Flight Guidance and Control of the Technical University of Braunschwelg a symbol generator and a graphic-driver have been developed to enable free programming of electronic displays in a high programming language. Map-displays to substitute flights under visual meteorological conditions are Introduced and discussed In this presentation.
