Peculiarities of Sound Propagation in Smoothly Nonuniform Ducts with Flow

Asymptotic solution of the task on sound propagation in a cylindrical duct with cross section and the wall impedance slowly varying along the axis in the presence of a potential flow is formulated. For the solution formulation there was used the smooth disturbance method which is a modification of the geometric acoustics method adjusted to waveguide task solutions. Asymptotic solulion procedures in the presence of one and two closely disposed double points CDPl in a duct with impedance walls and one and two closely disposed turning points CTPl in a hard-walled duct are formulated. The procedures are based on matching of internal and external solutions. The internal solutions mean solutions valid near DP and IP. In this case the complete local description of the sound field in a duct is achieved.
