The perfonnance of the Chebyshev spectral collocation method is evaluated on two model acoustic boundary-value problems. The first problem concerns the reflection of plane waves off a solid wall boundary. We show that a characteristic compatibility condition used to calculate the wall pressure gives spectrally accurate reflected wave angles. The second problem concerns the radiation of circular sound waves. For those boundaries we evaluate the spectral approximation of the Bayliss-Turkel radiation condition.
