Titel:

Research in Aeroservoelasticity at the NASA Langley Research Center

Autor(en):
W. Whitlow, T.E. Noll
Zusammenfassung:
Recent accomplishments and current research in aeroservoelasticity at the NASA Langley Research Center are presented. Accomplishments during the Active Flexible Wing (AFW) wind-tunnel test are summarized. Analytical results that show the effects of aerothermal loads on the aeroelastic response of hypersonic aircraft are presented. Activities in the use of piezoelectric materials to actively control panel flutter and the use of shape-memory alloys to passively control panel flutter are summarized. A method to extend Matched Filter Theory to obtain maximized and time-correlated gust loads for aircraft with nonlinear control systems is presented. Finally, the results of a program to provide design and analysis methods to reduce rotorcraft structural vibrations are summarized.
