Zusammenfassung:
The mathematical model for dynamic analysis of the main structure of the EPS stage of Ariane 5 is generated using the Finite Element Method. However, some substructures as the four axisymmetric tanks and their fluids MMH resp. N204 demand special tools for an effective analysis. In order to avoid internal degrees of freedom within the fluid domains, the fluids. are idealized by means of Boundary Element Techniques. In addition, there are well known advantages of analytical approaches in structural mechanics as accuracy and effectiveness. For this, a semianalytical tool that based upon the technical shell theory and the Transfer Matrix Method is used to idealize the axisymmetric tank substructures. This paper· demonstrates the application of the Boundary Element Techniques and of the Transfer Matrix Method and their combination with the Finite Element Model in order to generate a mathematical model of the Ariane 5 stage EPS for dynamical investigations. Some results of the hybrid analysis are compared with results achieved by using a simplified FE-model.
