Zusammenfassung:
The forty years old german suspension bridge Köln-Rodenkirchen has proved to no longer meet with the traffic situation of today. Thus conclusions were made to enlarge bridge traffic area by installing an additional bridge deck being supported by the existing cable structure plus only one additional main cable. Aeroelastic investigations became necessary to keep the bridge safe against the danger of wind induced oscillations in the new state and also during reconstruction time. Wind tunnel model tests have been carried out at the Kassel University with section models representing geometry and dynamic behavior of the bridge. Parameter identification techniques were used to measure aerodynamic forces upon the oscillating model exposed to Windstream of variated wind velocities. This load parameter identification technique leads to informations about unstationary aerodynamic forces as functions of wind velocity which then are available for analytical dynamic calculations on the model and on the full scale bridge. Testing procedure and test results will be presented in this paper.
