The paper presents an iterative procedure used to investigate the convergence to a limit cycle of a flutter system with many degrees of freedom, and interacting, strongly nonlinear stiffnesses and dampings. Concentrated nonlinearities (describing functions) are defined by harmonic balance from static tests. Some combinations of the measured data were adapted to testing the iteration process and convergence criteria.
