Titel:

A Time-Marching Numerical Procedure for Rotor Vibratory Air loadings

Zusammenfassung:
Reciprocal interaction phenomena between rotor blades and their shed wake are numerically simulated using unsteady vortex lattice method along with time-dependent strength of vortices traveling in prescribed wake geometries. This time-marching procedure is an improvement over the classical two-dimensional quasisteady aerodynamics which can predict neither the threedimensional tip-relief effect, nor the unsteady wake dynamics beneath the rotor, both of which play an important role in rotor aeroelastic analysis. The perturbed time histories of thrust for a two-bladed hovering rotor undergoing various unsteady pitching motions clearly show the effects of the three-dimensional tip-relief effect and the unsteady wake dynamics effect of near and returning wake between a preceding and a reference blade including successive revolutions.
