Titel:

Free Flying Laboratory Design for Automation

Autor(en):
H. Siemann
Zusammenfassung:
Hardautomation and a central Equipment Manipulation And Transportation System (EMATS) are necessary to be able to teleoperate the payload on board the Columbus Free Flying Laboratory. Under ESA contract a detailed concept for EMATS has been developed, which enables the users to perform their experiments. Due to its dexterity and versatility it is also able to take over system servicing and repair tasks. The EMATS concept will be validated with the Columbus Automation and Robotics Ground Test Bed (CAT).
