Titel:

Propulsion System Integration

Autor(en):
R. Laurens
Zusammenfassung:
As an introductory message it is shown how the needs of aircraft and engine manufacturers have to be integrated in order to optimize the complete propulsion system. Since the nacelle and thrust reverser designs will be directly impacted by engines evolutions and the engine / wing integration, the main factors for future fundamental changes are analysed. As part of this analysis the following aspects are reviewed: engine thermodynamic cycle, aerodynamics, acoustics, stress analysis, materials evolution especially composites, development of new techniques to reverse the thrust and also the increased awareness to design a product capable to demonstrate an excellent reliability.
