Zusammenfassung:
The PW300 is a modern high bypass turbofan being designed and developed jointly by Pratt and Whitney Canada and Motoren- und -Turbinen Union. It will initially have a take-off thrust of about 22 KN (5,000 Lbf) and compared to existing turbofans of this class will offer up to a 20% reduction in specific fuel consumption. A technical description of each engine component is given as well as an explanation of how the exceptional peformance is achieved. The growth potential and derivative versions of the engine are also discussed.
