Zusammenfassung:
For new propeller-driven commuter aircraft, very low cabin noise levels are required to obtain a passenger comfort comparable to jet-powered airliners and business jets. In order to achieve this goal for the advanced regional airliner Dornier 328, an extensive interior noise control program has been set up and is currently in progress. In the present paper, this noise control program is described and related first results are presented. The data include noise estimates from initial trade off analyses followed by a summary of experimental and theoretical results of more detailed studies. The experimental results include selected test data of systematic transmission loss and noise reduction measurements performed on different aircraft fuselage panels and a full-scale Dornier 328 fuselage test section, respectively. The theoretical results comprise vibration analysis data of fuselage sections of different designs as well as interior noise and related noise reduction spectra predicted for the full-scale fuselage test section and the overall aircraft cabin structure . The results were obtained using the Dornier finite element code COSA and the propeller interior noise program PAIN developed by NASA Langley. The experimental and theoretical results are in agood agreement and provide important inputs for an acoustical tuning of the fuselage structure. In addition, detailed information on the complex vibroacoustic behavior of the aircraft cabin cavity and the fuselage structure is provided, required for systematic future noise control work.
