Zusammenfassung:
BepiColombo is an interdisciplinary mission of ESA and JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency). After a 7 year transfer, two spacecraft will be placed in complementary orbits around Mercury. High-thrust ion engines, high-temperature multi-layer insulation and high-temperature solar arrays were developed to meet the mission needs. The spacecraft are in Kourou since May 2018, being readied for launch in October.
