Titel:

Automatic Data Processing and Computation Techniques for the Evaluation of Inertial Guidance Systems

Autor(en):
M.G. Jaenke
Zusammenfassung:
The development and testing of inertial guidance systems, essential components of missiles and space vehicles, require significant computer and data processing support to achieve accurate evaluation and timely completion. The paper describes the methods and equipment used for the evaluation of sled tests, which became an important part of the development test program of such systems. It discusses the analytical approach for the analysis of guidance systems and the considerations leading to the necessary digital computer programs. It then covers the steps of automatically handling and pre-processing the data through the stages of storage and format conversion for input to the digital computer. Furthermore, the important role of the analog computer in the determination of the sources of observed malfunctions, the clarification of hypotheses in cases of marginal funct ioning and for design improvement studies is described.
