This paper describes the United States Federal Aviation Administrations (FAA) National Aging aircraft Program. It presents the activities of the FAAs primary research organization, the relationship of the Aging Aircraft Research Project to the overall FAA research program and presents the mission needs and objectives that the project addresses. The paper briefly describes research initiatives assigned high priorities and those showing promise of success.
