Titel:

Zusammenfassung:
The safety development and validation discipline of industry will be challenged by the need to maintain and improve the safety of the world air transport fleet as it expands and by the introduction of new configurations and materials in future aircraft. Industry and the agencies act together to assure safe design and construction of aircraft and to resolve safety issues when a critical condition is discovered in service. Airplanes currently under development or recently certificated, as well as airplanes in the fleet, benefit by design change initiated from these actions. In response to the expanding needs for the fleet and for new aircraft programs, it will be necessary for industry and the agencies to integrate the safety development process. The Integrated Product Development process as is used in manufacturing is suggested as a model. Executive management action within Industry and the Agencies is suggested.
