Zusammenfassung:
The purpose of the presentation is to provide visibility how from the airliners point of view a structural maintenance program was developed and continuesly updated as more service experience became available during the maturing process of the jet-transport airplanes structure, and the reflection of the aging airplane issues. From the beginning of scheduled service of jet airplanes - more than 30 years ago - up to the present time. there was existing a continues cooperation between manufacturers, operators and airworthiness regulatories to share experience in order to outline basic maintenance programs with an adequate level of safety to ensure that the airplane structure meets required ultimate strength. fail safe load, and later: damage tolerance capability, at all times as long the airplane will be kept in service.
