Titel:
Derivation of Linear Stability Equations in Orthogonal Curvi-Linear Coordinates, Using a Formula Manipulation Program
Autor(en):

Zusammenfassung:
As part of the ELFIN I project the linear stability equations for a three-dimensional compressible, heat conducting fluid, were derived in orthogonal curvilinear coordinates. The aim of this exercise was to investigate the effects of wall curvature as well as wave front curvature on boundary layer stability. The derivation comprises several basic manipulations like (partial) derivation, substitution, linearisation and collection of terms, which can, due to the length of the derivation, best be done with the help of a formula manipulation program. The derivation of the equations is described in detail. The final equations and their implementation in an existing linear stability computer program (COSALX) are briefly discussed.
